Lylah's Library

I've seen similar bookshelves all over bloggerville and they were the perfect solution for my youngest daughter's room ... all of the bedrooms in our home are rather small and these worked out perfectly!!! They hold TONS of books in a manner that looks nice, doesn't take up much space, and more importantly ... the girls can pick them up and put them away without Momma having to rearrange things :)

Her room is pink with black furniture and a Ladybug theme so I opted to add some ladybugs to the shelves ... I'm REALLY happy with how they turned out and they should last her for quiet sometime as they aren't too "baby-eskt"  :)

My Grandma gave Lylah this rocking chair (complete with a chair pad sewn by my Grandma) for Christmas as she LOVES to rock ... and swing :) Perfect fit for her reading corner!!!

Perfect for a little girl ... don't you think!?!

I'll Be Featured!!! Check it out ...

I received an email yesterday that my Red, White & Blue Table Decor will be featured this Sunday over at Simply Designing!!! This is super exciting ... especially since I've been rather MIA from blog land for a while as we have some big projects going on around our home and have been out of town on weekends. I've got a couple crafty projects to post and this is definitely some motivation for me to get back on track :) ... that and 4 new Cricut cartridges I received earlier this week!!! So thank you Simply Designing for the feature and the motivation!!!

Confetti Lollipop Cookies

Yesterday my oldest daughter had her first preschool moving up/graduation and picnic ... it was a bit emotional for me when they called her name and handed her "certificate" as I can't believe how fast she is growing up! Thankfully we have lots of pics :) Anyway, I made these for her to share with her friends ... very much a summertime kiddo kind of cookie!

 The "Display" :)

You can make these with any sugar cookie recipe, confetti sprinkles, glaze/frosting, and Popsicle sticks ...

Rounded tablespoons of cookie dough and sprinkles

Roll the dough out to 5 inches

 Pour a line of sprinkles

Carefully roll the dough into the sprinkles

Coil the dough into a circle

Transfer to an ungreased baking sheet

Bake at 375 degrees for about 8 minutes

Remove from oven and insert Popsicle stick and allow to cool on the baking sheet
(as you can tell ... my baking sheets are WELL loved ... they get LOTS of use)

Had this basket on hand and thought it would be fun to display them similar to the baskets of lollipops you see at fairs :)

I've also made these using different colors of cookie dough and rolling them together to make more of a rainbow style lollipop cookie which is very fun as well!

Red, White & Blue Table Decor

I came up with this display for our table last year just before the 4th of July and could wait to put it out again this year ... I LOVE it so much that I decided to put it out June 3rd rather than wait til July :) I also had fun taking pics of this so sorry for the photo overload :) Enjoy!

My fav pic!!! Might have to turn this into its own project :)

With the candles lit for dinner :)

 Another lit candle pic

I had more red roses so I put this "arrangement" together for my Hubby the Friday before his birthday (which also happened to the same day I put together the table decor) ... he has his buddies over for "Beer Friday" so I picked up a case of his favorite beer, put half of it the fridge so it'd be cold and left the other half in the box to complete the display :)

UPDATE 6/30/2011 - Just found out this little home decor project will be featured this Sunday over at
Please go check it out!
